Junior Finance and Shipping Assistant
Parlane International Ltd, based in Bourton-on-the-Water, require a person to join the team in a junior role, primarily supporting the finance and shipping departments. The full-time role will give the right candidate the opportunity to develop and grow within this fast moving company.
Responsibilities include:
- General administration
- Purchase ledger
- Reconciliations
Experience not necessary as training will be given, but the right candidate must:
- have attention to detail
- be numerate
- be computer literate

New Product and Sample Co-ordinator
The above role will be responsible for tracking new product samples from approximately 75 Asian suppliers for two collections per year, and co-ordinating the data associated with those samples.
The position will report to the Assistant Buyer.
The role will include the following functions:
- Creating new supplier accounts on Navision (the company's financial software package).
- Managing the Supplier Manual, ensuring it is sent to all new suppliers and issuing amendments when procedures change.
- Reviewing notes from buying trips and creating spreadsheets to progress samples and data for the initial product selections made.
- Obtain quotes for shipping samples and agree any courier charges before giving supplier clearance to send.
- Liaise with suppliers or buying agents concerning any missing samples or data.
- Advise suppliers of any changes required and agree final prices.
- When products are selected to be included in the Parlane range allocate unique reference number and tariff code, ensure all samples are correct and labelled, order extra samples where required and place first stock order.
New Product and Sample Co-ordinator cont.
- Manage samples for showrooms (3) and exhibitions.
- Co-ordinate with digital photographer to ensure all new products are photographed.
- Manage product labels and hang tags - orders, stock and delivery to suppliers.
- Review quality issues on first deliveries and liaise with suppliers to rectify problems.
- Supply additional product information when required by export customers - botanical names, care instructions etc.
The role is hands on and does require the person to assist in the unpacking of samples.
In the future there could be the possibility of travel to visit some of the suppliers.
